Agreed. I tried to leave a message on the telephone, but yer mailbox is filled. I wanted to point out that right after your ad for the birthing center at the hospital, you played "have a cigar" by pink floyd, and i wasn't sure if it was on purpose which would be cool, or a coincidence which would also be pretty cool. rock on. hey i just realized I am already registered as ryaninnelson, above. O well, I live in cville now.

HI David, I really LOVE your station, the music you play, and your Inspirational message. Combining an AWESOME variety of Great MUSIC with a Powerful and Inspirational WORD OF GOD message is needed and much appreciated by this listener. I met you at your stations' 20th Birthday party. I am also a radio talk show KOOK and a couple of weeks ago I heard either GLEN BECK or MARK LEVIN mention A plan by DAVID LANE to SAVE AMERICA. I was wondering if indeed this PLAN was your PLAN! Iwould like to hear more about it. THANX for playing URIAH HEEP today THE WIZARD.

During the days of September 28th through October 2nd, a U.S. Navy Explosives Ordinance Disposal Team will be conducting an Inland Waterways Training operation in the Appomattox River. The obstructions block navigation and contribute to severe erosion of the river banks. Reducing erosion of the riverbanks will decrease the amount of sediment entering the river, improving the aquatic health of the Appomattox River and ultimately the health of the Chesapeake Bay.
This training is valuable to this team in preparation for responding to community needs during times of disaster and for honing their skills in explosives placement. The possible locations of this year’s training evolution range from sites near Prospect to just upstream of the Buffalo Creek confluence. The sound of explosives being discharged might be heard in the Farmville area, and could be mistaken for thunder. Residents are encouraged to not be alarmed. Emergency response personnel in Farmville, Buckingham, Cumberland and Prince Edward are aware of the training operation, and this operation is being conducted by the most skilled professionals in this field. These military professionals are part of the same team that is called to diffuse IEDs in foreign territory, bombs found in airports or old artillery found in historic battlefields and recovery missions that require diving expertise.
The Friends of the Appomattox River has organized the local coordination of this annual training mission since 1998. Many restaurants in this area make this training mission possible for this team by sponsoring meals. Wednesday night is a “Community Meet & Greet” event at Charley’s Waterfront Café when the community is invited to meet these professionals at 7PM to recognize their talents and military service to the USA. Many other restaurants are sponsoring meals throughout the week. Special appreciation is extended to the Town of Farmville, those individuals who are providing lodging for the team, and to Longwood University and the Southside Virginia Family YMCA for providing facilities to the team during their stay in Farmville.
The results of the past years training mission are profound in terms of river health and are meaningful to professional development in the EOD team.
